Big Idea is a eleven piece instrumental ensemble made up of some of Canada’s finest jazz and classical musicians. Created by Bob Stevenson to perform his own compositions, Big Idea possesses the flexibility, virtuosity and passion needed to perform this music. Elements of classical new music, jazz, free and structured improvisation and music from cultures around the world all play a role in Stevenson’s personal, heady mix of ideas from diverse sources.
