Saturday Matinee with Michael Louis Johnson & the Red Rhythm (um2010001) – was recorded live at the Communist’s Daughter in the spring of 2009.  It’s a heady mix of depression era standards and provocative originals, featuring MLJ singing and playing trumpet (while tending the bar.)

A Different Path (um2010002) – presents original compositions by Monteith McCollum for his feature documentary of the same name.  The film, featuring Johnson as a subject for his activism with Streets are for People, premiered at SXSW in Austin, Texas and recently enjoyed rave reviews and sold out screenings at the 2010 Hot Docs Festival in Toronto.  The soundtrack is a dark and richly layered meditation featuring McCollum on various strings and ambient sounds, with Johnson playing all horns.
